A smoothie is a great and healthy option for you and loved ones when trying to beat the summer heat. A simple and tasty smoothie you can make at home is the Blueberry Banana Smoothie. Smoothies are a great way to get nutrients to your body and if made properly they can be healthy too. We all know that blueberries and bananas are two fruits loaded with good stuff in them. Blueberries are rich with antioxidants and bananas have a bunch of potassium in them to fight off cramps. Besides being a great snack smoothies can be whipped up in no time and this recipe is very easy to make. You can have smoothies ready to go in under 30 minutes.

This recipe will serve two. If you have more than 2 people drinking them, just increase the amount of ingredients. For this smoothie you’ll need a ripe banana, 1 cup of blueberries, and 1 cup of nonfat yogurt. Once you have your ingredients gathered it’s time to make your smoothie. The first step is to put the banana, blueberries, and yogurt into a blender. From there blend the ingredients until you have a smooth drink. Placing your blender on the high setting will give you the best results. Once you’ve blended your smoothie to the consistency you like, pour into two glasses and serve immediately.
